The Channel Tunnel, open 24h/day, 7 days/week and 365 days a year, remains the most heavily used railway track in the world with a train (Truck Shuttles, Le Shuttle trains for passenger vehicles, Eurostar trains and rail freight trains) every 3 minutes at peak times. These railway tracks can support a load of up to 2,500 tonnes for a 800m long Truck Shuttle.
