Appointment of new Director for Rail Freight Development
Eurotunnel has appointed François Coart as Director for Rail Freight Development.
He will be responsible for launching the activity of the Eurotunnel subsidiary, Europorte 2, which obtained a licence as a railway operator in February 2004. He will report directly to Jacques Gounon, Chairman and Chief Executive of Eurotunnel and of Europorte 2.
Prior to joining Eurotunnel, François Coart held positions in the two largest railway equipment manufacturers, Bombardier and Alstom Transport. He has a significant background in marketing analysis, international business and technical knowledge of railways products and services.
Whilst with Bombardier, François Coart was responsible for products and marketing policy for the Belgian and European Markets.
At Alstom Transport, he held a number of senior positions, amongst them Business Development Director for Western Europe and Vice-President for Sales and Marketing in France.
François Coart, 40, is a dual national, French and Belgian. He studied at the Catholic University of Louvain, graduating as an Ingenieur in Business Administration.
